So, sisters, I want to have an important chat with you. The reason we’re raising funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation is so they can search for an early detection test. That’s because there isn’t currently a simple screening test like a  mammogram or a Pap smear and because of this, ovarian cancer often isn’t discovered until too late.  So I want you to tune out from social media and TV and school runs and work and the bloody plebiscite, and tune into your body and think about this. The symptoms of ovarian cancer are vague, but if you have more than two of these symptoms unusually or persistently, please have a chat with your doctor:

  • Vague abdominal pain or pressure
  • Feeling of abdominal fullness, gas, nausea, indigestion – different to your normal sensations
  • Sudden abdominal swelling, weight gain or bloating
  • Persistent changes in bowel or bladder patterns
  • Low backache or cramps
  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Unexplained weight loss

Today on Day 11 the good scientists at the Ovarian Cancer Foundation got a boost from my fellow DJ, Deb, who can rock a frock and rock a dancefloor all at once. Cheers sister! You can offer a boost at

My frock today was a Hell Bunny one – super comfortable and easy to wear. Hope you had a comfy day too, and that you found an outraged capsicum or a couch to colour co-ordinate with.
